M.S.Top Middx-C.1 – Middlesex Miscellaneous Papers

A bound assortment of original documents from the 15th and 16th century with no apparent link to Isleworth

 M.S.Top Middx-C.2 - Mannours & Lords of Tottenham

An original document detailing a history of the “Mannours & Lords of Tottenham” from before 1057 to about 1700.  There did not appear to be any link with Isleworth.

 M.S.Top Middx-e.1 & e.2 - Isleworth Vestry Orders

Two index books (approx 4 ¾ inches by 7 inches) each containing about 95 pages of written notes and entitled “Vestry Orders”.

e.1 opens with a note dated 21 May 1789 and has an index for the period c 1651 – 1722 but I found some entries as late as 1737.  The subject of the index is items from the Parish Records of Isleworth arranged in a loose alphabetic order with many cross-references as to the volumes that they came from.  Almost every page has illustrations/sketches on them and some of these have been coloured in.  There are several pages about the Workhouse (45-48), the church pews (50-59) and about the organist.

e.2 is the same as above but covers a later period to about 1790.  There were a number of relevant family entries in this book as follows:-

16 Apr 1750            Ordered to subscribe the 50£ of Dyckhoffs according to the Resolve of Commons the 20 Mar 1749             (D1-296)

The library would not allow photocopies of pages.  Scans could be taken at £2-95 per page.  Alternatively the books could be microfilmed.  Using two pages per image (open book) the cost would be £23.00 for 31-60 frames, £38.35 for 61-100 frames or £50.10 for 101-130 frames.  I estimate that pages with writing on them from both books would amount to a total of 97 images and cost £38.35.
