William WINTER

29 January 1856

This is the last Will and Testament of me William Winter, Carpenter of No. 67 Praed Street, Paddington in the County of Middlesex.  First I desire all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses may be fully paid and I then give and bequeath to my wife Ann Rebecca Winter all those two leasehold messuages tenements and premises situate and being Nos 23 and 24 Great North Street, Edgware Road in the Parish of St Marylebone in the County of Middlesex with all their appurtenances for and being the term of her natural life.  I also give and bequeath to my said wife all my goods chattels moneys wearing apparel and whatever property I may be possessed of at the time of my decease for her natural life and at her decease the said leasehold messuage tenement and premise No 23 Great North Street in the Parish and County before mentioned to go to the possession of my son William Thomas Winter for his sole and absolute use and benefit.  And the said other leasehold messuage tenement and premise being No 24 Great North Street in the Parish and County before mentioned to go to the possession of my daughter Caroline Ann Winter for her sole use and benefit absolutely.  And whatever moneys goods chattels wearing apparel or property of any kind whatever may be in the possession of my said wife at the time of her decease to be divided equally between my son and daughter before mentioned for their separate use and benefit absolutely.  And I hereby nominate and appoint my said wife Ann Rebecca Winter to be sole Executrix to this my last Will and Testament In witness thereof I have signed my hand this 22 day of March 1851 – William Winter – Signed and declared by the testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names at witnesses thereto – WitnessesRobert HunterThomas Wingate X.

Appeared Personally Robert Hunter of No 66 Praed Street Paddington in the County of Middlesex Baker and made oath that he is one of the subscribed witnesses to the last Will and Testament of the said William Winter formerly of Praed Street, Paddington but late of North Street Marylebone both in the County of Middlesex deceased bearing date the twenty second day of March one thousand eight hundred and fifty one and now hereunto annexed and made oath that on the said twenty second day of March the said testator had executed his said Will by signing his name at the foot or end thereof in the presence of this deponent and Thomas Wingate the other subscribing witness thereto who were both present at the same time and this deponent and the said Thomas Wingate thereupon attested and subscribed the said Will in the presence of the said testator and also of each other – Robert Hunter – On the 23rd day of January 1856 the said Robert Hunter was duly sworn to the truth of this affidavit before me J T Pratt.

Proved at London the 29th Jany 1856 before The Worshipful Samuel Cambry Doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the oath of Ann Rebecca Winter the Relict the sole Executrix to whom admon was granted having been first sworn duly to administer.
