The first mention that we have of Richard is when he applied for a licence to marry Elizabeth DYCKHOFF on 2nd July 1770. The licence application describes him as Richard RYMELL of the parish of Isleworth, Batchelor aged upwards of 21 years, Ostler and that he intended to marry Elizabeth DICKHUFF of the same parish, Spinster aged upwards of 21 years. He made his mark + on the application.
Isleworth parish records record the marriage of Richard RIMELL to Elizabeth DYCKHOFF on 29th September 1770. Richard made his mark again but Elizabeth signed her name. The witnesses were Daniel Finney and Maria Draper.
The parish records then record the baptisms of Hannah (9th August 1772) and James (3rd July 1774) to Richard and Elizabeth RIMELL.
There are no other mentions of this family group in the Isleworth parish records.
The Hanwell land tax records for 1789 mention a Mr RYMER that is not mentioned in 1788 so I assume that this is when he moved there. By 1791 (the next available record) his name is recorded as Mr RYMELL, by 1797 it is Mr R RYMELL and in 1803 it is Richd RYMELL. He is last mentioned in the land tax records in 1811 when he was recorded as Richard RIMELL.
He is mentioned twice in Hanwell Vestry minutes (Mr RIMELL) for attending meetings in 1807 and 1809.
He is mentioned a number of times in the Hanwell Poors Rates records, generally as Richd RIMELL) between 1806 and 4th November 1811 the last time he is mentioned here. The Poors Rates for 1812 were paid by Mrs RIMELL and this is the last time that she is mentioned here.
Hanwell parish records record the burial of Richard RYMAL on January 5th 1812 aged 70 years, which would give his birth year as 1742.
