Opening Note (1745-1808)
1746, Oct ye 28. A dreadful Earthquake happened at Lima the Capital of Peru and the neighbouring part of Calao which buried several thousand of the inhabitants.
1749 Two violent shocks of Earthquakes at London on the 8th day of Feb: at ½ an hour past 12. at Noon. Another 28 days after the 8th day of March at ½ an hour past 5 in the Morning. The second was very Dreadful. (1563) NB although entry dated 1749 this was actually 1750.

29 Jan 1749 (p59) £50 Dickhoff. And it further appearing that Mr Dickhoff Left by his Will to the Poor of Isleworth for ever the Sum of 50 Pounds, the Interest to be paid to his Widow & Daughter during their lives & then to Revert to the Parish.
Ordd that Mr Webb & Mr Purse late Churchwardens be desird to Receive the said 50 Pound out of the Public Fund, with Interest due thereon, & pay the same to the Present Churchwardens, In order to be paid to the Treasurer of the Charity School, & Put out to the use of the Will.
The Letter to Mr Webb & Mr Purse on this Occasion.
At a Meeting this day of the Trustees you are desird to receive the £50 Left by Mr Dickhoff & pay the same to Mr Thursfield and Mr Goddard the Prest. Churchwardens with Interest due thereon, who are to pay the Same to the Treasurer of the Cha. S. & will go to Town and bear your Expenses. (1567/8)
