DURRANT (RIMELL), Mary (c1726-1808)

The first mention that we have of Mary DURRANT is on the marriage licence application by William RIMELL on 20th September 1765. On this she is decalred as a spinster who, four 4 weeks previously had lived in Sunbury, the normal entry of "of this parish" having been struck out. Mary married William RIMELL in Sunbury on 26th September 1765.

The next mention that we have of her was a signature on a receipt for 9s 2d in 1779 from Martha Heddin for liquor although at this time it was not clear who M RIMELL was.  In William RIMELL’s will he left everything to his wife Mary and this is the first clear mention that we have of her.

There are a number of subsequent entries in the parish records where she was generally described as “poor”.

The final entry is when she was buried at All Saints, Isleworth on Aug 24, 1808.  Her age is recorded as 82 years, which would give her birth year as 1726.
